Our Story

Elysium λ Development & Research was founded with a clear purpose: to work hand in hand with SMEs to boost their digital presence and grant them access to infrastructure that allows them to scale their businesses.

Small and medium-sized enterprises represent the structural backbone of the European Union and Costa Rican economy. Yet many remain excluded from the benefits of technological transformation due to barriers of complexity, cost and digital literacy. Elysium λ seeks to investigate and develop digital infrastructures that make advanced technologies more accessible, transparent and trustworthy for SMEs navigating this transformation.

The name Elysium λ reflects the soul of this project:

Elysium comes from the ancient Greek Ἠλύσιον: a place reserved for those virtuous souls who promoted justice, harmony, and brotherhood. Elysium also appears in the poem 'An die Freude' (Ode to Joy) written by the German Friedrich von Schiller in 1785. In 1824, Ludwig van Beethoven incorporated this poem into the fourth movement of his Ninth Symphony (Anthem of Joy), a work that is currently the official anthem of the European Union.

The symbol λ (lambda) is the eleventh letter of the Greek alphabet and the second letter in the word Ἠλύσιον (Elysium). It represents the abstraction of ideas into executable systems.

Within the context of this project, Elysium λ symbolizes the aspiration to contribute to an increasingly unified European Union.

Beginning with digital infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises, Elysium λ aims to evolve toward research and the training of scientific developers that support a European and Costa Rican digital future focused on R&D.
